BLANKET DISTRIBUTION

The Rohingya people left everything behind and came to Bangladesh with nothing except the clothes on their backs.

It is common to see barefooted children wearing only thin cotton clothing, shorts and t-shirts.

January and February are Bangladesh’s coldest months with night time temperatures falling as low as 50 degrees Fahrenheit (10°C). Without proper shelter, warm clothes or fuel for heating, there is no way for helpless refugee families to keep themselves warm. Rohingya children in the camps and makeshift shelters in Bangladesh urgently need clothes and blankets to keep themselves and their families warm this winter.

We in collaboration with BASMAH USA (Bangladesh American Society of Muslim Aid for Humanity) have distributed more than 10000 blankets to Rohingya refugees and Bangladeshi Locals in winter of 2018-2019. The blanket distribution drive is still running in refugee camps. The camps where blankets are distributed is Camp 14, Block E-5 Hakimpara, Ukhiya, Cox’s bazaar and Camp 01, Block 01 Lombashya, Kutupalong, Cox’s bazaar, Bangladesh. Blankets are also distributed at different locations in Bangladesh where it is needed the most.

Our partner organization BASMAH USA grant us funds to distribute blankets during winter season of 2018-2019. This project and all services offered is approved by Government of Bangladesh NGO Affairs Bureau (Approval Number – 03.07.2666.662.68.156.18-993)
